About Me

Growing up I was always a huge fan of TV shows and movies. I had always imagined being a part of it all someday, but it wasn't until high school that I actually got serious about my interest. I started taking video production classes and got into performing arts. I had gotten into theatre as an actor and soon started directing and writing. I wrote and directed my first one act play, "The Thinker" my senior year and it was one the most fun and fulfilling experiences I had throughout all of high school. My interest in filmmaking became full-time after graduating from high school when I attended the Colorado Film School with a major in Writing/Directing and earned an Associates of Applied Science Degree. I transferred my credits to the University of Colorado Denver and earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Film & Television.  In that time I worked on countless films and projects both in and outside of school.

I of course love movies and going to the movie theatre, but my true interest in series. Most of my all time favorite stories came out of series for television and streaming. The ability to tell long form stories in short segments is something that I am very interested in. There is also the added bonus of a steady job, but the creative freedom to explore many different ideas within one universe is what really interests me. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to work on feature films as well. I'd also be interested in the world of internet content now that we've entered a new wave of media creation that's impossible not to notice.

I have always gravitated toward comedy, and that's what I've been best at ever since I was a kid. I still love comedy and making people laugh, but I've been starting to blend comedy in with other genres like sci-fi and thriller. My style is becoming somewhat of a blend between Taika Waititi and Christopher Nolan if that makes sense. My most recent film Number 7 is a good example of the blend between sci-fi high concept ideas, and approachable humor that I've been interested in lately.

I love collaborating on team projects with other filmmakers, and I have also gotten comfortable working by myself when working with a team isn't an option. Someday I'd like to be winning Emmy's for a series that I created, but in the meantime I'd be excited to work on anything in the film/tv/media world. I focus on writing/directing, but I have experience with just about every job available. I have my own set of professional equipment that I know how to use, and have put to good use. I prefer to use Final Cut Pro for editing, but I know that everyone else loves Adobe, so I can also edit with Premiere Pro and the rest of the Creative Cloud apps. I also have Movie Magic Scheduling and know how to use it.

It's pronounced "Eleven 'O' One" and it's the name of my production company. It's just me, but you have to have a cool name and logo when you make movies. Long story short, 1101 kind of became a lucky number for me and I thought it would be cool name for a production company. The 1101 youtube page is where we uploaded "All In" and where I will most likely upload future projects like that. You'll know that I hand a heavy hand in a project if it includes a vanity card that says "Made By 1101".
